Bannu Brigade

The infantry formation of the Bannu Brigade operated under the British Indian Army during the Second World War. The brigade was raised after the Kitchener reforms of the British Indian Army in 1903. It was undertaken by Lord by Herbert Kitchener when he was Commander-in-Chief in British India. Later Bannu Brigade was included as a part of the Northern Army. The troops of the infantry formation were sent to the North West Frontier.

Commander Major General O`Donnell was one of the most renowned commandants of the Bannu Brigade. From November 1914 and March 1915, it took part in the military operations in the Tochi which were carried out by the British Indian Army during World War I on the North West Frontier. During this period, the troops served under the command of Major General Vere Bonamy Fane.

* 52nd Sikhs (Frontier Force)
* 29 Mountain Battery
* 55th Coke`s Rifles (Frontier Force)
