Akluj Fort is located in the Solapur District of Maharashtra on the banks of River Nira. This important fort of Solapur has been renovated by the Shree Dinkarrao Thopte and Avinash Thopte with the help of local people. Sambhaji Maharaj along with 26 others were captured by Mukarrab Khan from Sangameshwar and brought to this fort. Inside the fort there are various idols made from fibre depicting the life of Shivaji Maharaj.

Solapur Railway Station and Solapur Airport are the nearest to visit the fort. National Highway 16 and National Highway 65 connect Solapur to other major parts of Maharashtra.
