Makalidurga, KarnatakaMakalidurga is a hill fort located near to Makalidurga village at a distance of 60 km north from Bangalore, Karnataka. The fort is close to the Ghati Subramanya, a well-known pilgrimage center. It has an old Shiva temple at its summit, where legend Markandeya Rishi performed his penance. Makalidurga Fort stands at the top of a huge granite hillock. Makalidurga Fort is a popular trekking destination among adventurers. They mostly start a trek at night to reach the fort.
