The 7th Bombay Cavalry, also known as the 37th Lancers (Baluch Horse) was a cavalry regiment of the Honourable British East India Company. The British Indian Army unit was formed as the 7th Bombay Cavalry (Jacob Ka Risallah) in the year 1885. It was raised from the troops of the 3rd Scinde Horse (Belooch Horse), which was dissolved in the year 1882. The regiment was incorporated as a part of the Bombay Army, which was a division of the Presidency Armies in British India.
The 7th Bombay Cavalry consisted of entirely Muslim personnel and included of Baluchis and Pathans. The regiment first engaged in action in the year 1919, when the battalion took part in the Third Afghan War. A single squadron of the 3rd Scinde Horse (Belooch Horse) regiment provided significant military service in Persia during World War I. The uniform of the army unit included dark blue dress with buff facings. The military badge had crossed lances and pennons that included the number 37 over crossed lances.
