
The
state of
Bihar is located in the eastern part of India. It is the third-largest state in India by population and has an area of about 94,163 square kilometers. The ancient
universities of India like
Nalanda Vikramashila and
Odantapura were located in this state, which primarily supported educational
tourism here. Bihar is rich in ancient
monuments,
archaeological sites,
forts,
pilgrimages,
museums and fairs and
festivals, which draw a plethora of tourists here. Bihar also has an eco park namely, Rajdhani Vatika. This eco park is described below.
Rajdhani Vatika
Rajdhani Vatika is an eco park located in Punaichak at Strand Road in
Patna. The park is spread over an area of about 9.18 hectares. This park was inaugurated by
Nitish Kumar, the
Chief Minister of Bihar, in October, 2011, as a result of the initiative of the Department of Environment and
Forest. The aim behind the establishment of the park was to reduce the pressure on the Patna
Zoo. The park has two large sections and has greenery all around. This park is adorned with more than 3,000 types of
plants. Facilities provided in the first section are a childrens corner and a food court. This section is adorned with several fountains. The second section contains theme parks like Rashi Van, Guru Vatika,
Panchwati and Kewli Van. The second section has a restaurant and a
lake which provides opportunity for
boat rides. Both the sections are interconnected through an underground tunnel. The park also has facilities like a 1,445 meters long pathway and about 1,191 meters long jogging track.
