Rajdhani Vatika

Rajdhani Vatika is an eco park in Patna offering an exquisite leisure time to the visitors seeking serenity and refreshment. Among the bundle of invigorating activities, thematic forests of the park form a prime attraction.

Rajdhani Vatika, Patna, BiharRajdhani Vatika is an eco park situated in Patna district of the Indian state Bihar. It was inaugurated by the honourable chief minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar in October 2011. The park was set up by the initiative of Department of Environment and Forest, Government of Bihar. The sprawling green campus of the Eco Park hosts a 1445 metres pathway, an 1191 metre jogging track and a site for children`s amusement. Rajdhani Vatika was developed with the aim of reducing the load of Patna Zoo. It spans over an area of 9.18 hectares and is adorned with a beautiful lake. It invites a number of visitors for spending a relaxing time in the tranquil ambience. The park is the home to over 3,000 varieties of plants. Rajdhani Vatika hosts a vast expanse of lush greenery and is divided into two sections.

First Section of Rajdhani Vatika
The first section is led by the entry gate and opens to an open area with charmingly carved landscape. This division has a food corner, fountains and children corner. In this section the visitors can walk amidst the beautiful and serene surroundings. The place also provides place for kids to play where they can cherish see saws, swings and other stuffs for amusement. It is also embellished with sculptures of famous artists. Among these, one of the prominent sculptures is named as Cactus Smriti created by Subodh Gupta. It has been structured with kitchen items including bowls, spoons, glasses etc. Rajdhani Vatika, Patna, BiharAnother captivating sculpture is called Raja Shailesh created by Rajat Ghosh. There is a small lake which is also the site of Aqua Zorbing which refers to an amusement activity in which people enjoy a ride over the lake from inside a specially built big balloon.

Connecting Tunnel
The first section of Rajdhani Vatika is interconnected with its second section through an underground tunnel having a circular ramp. At its centre there exist several panels portraying different aspects of the life of Lord Buddha.

The second part of the Eco Park is dotted with thematic forests such as Kewli Van, Panchwati, Guru Vatika and Rashi Van which showcase the varied aspects of ancient knowledge including astrology. In this section there also exists a lake where pleasant boat ride can be enjoyed. Latest machinery for exercise has also been provided in the park. There is also a restaurant for the visitors. A Nalanda Ruin Corner has also been built in this section as a dedication to State Centenary celebration. It is the replica of the relics of the great Nalanda University through which the splendour and glory of ancient Bihar can be revisited. The section is also adorned with a variety of flora which in different seasons embellishes the garden in vibrant colours.
