![]() Early Life of Vandana Menon Born on 10th June, 1989 in Mulankunthukavu in the Thrissur city of Kerala, Vandana Menon’s first appearance was in the 1992 Telugu film ‘Pellaniki Premalekha Priyuraliki Subhalekha’. Her second movie as a child actress was the 2002 Tamil film ‘April Mathathil’. It was a stepping stone for Vandana along with the lead actors Saiju Kurup and Mamta Mohandas. Vandana was next seen in the M. P. Sukumaran Nair directed critically acclaimed 2006 Malayalam film ‘Drishtantham’. The film, starring Murali in the lead, received wide critical appraisal and won numerous awards including the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film and the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. Vandana was subsequently seen in 2007 in K. Madhu’s Malayalam thriller ‘Nadiya Kollappetta Rathri’, where she played the television reporter Shreya Mariya alongside Suresh Gopi and Kavya Madhavan playing the lead roles. The film met with positive reviews from critics upon release and was declared a Super Hit at the box office, completing 100 days in Trivandrum and Ernakulam. Vandana was next seen in the 2008 film ‘Thavalam’ and the same year; she made her debut in Kannada Cinema with the film ‘Premigaagi Naa’. In 2010, Vandana Menon acted in two Malayalam blockbusters, ‘Happy Husbands’ and ‘Kaaryasthan’. ‘Happy Husbands’, a comedy directed by Saji Surendran released in January 2010 and became a big commercial success. ‘Kaaryasthan’ released later in November that year. Vandana was next seen in the 2011 comedy film ‘Ulakam Chuttum Valiban’. Though the film received poor reviews and failed to make any impact in the box office, Vandana’s portrayal was appreciated. She was subsequently seen in 2012 in the action film ‘Simhasanam’, in the lead alongside Prithviraj and Aishwarya Devan. The movie released in August 2012 to negative reviews and ended up doing average business at the box office. Vandana Menon was last seen in 2015, in the coming of age romantic comedy ‘Rasputin’.
