Raqesh Vashisth is an Indian Actor and model. He is best known for his work in Television Serials. He made his debut as an actor in Bollywood movie "Tum Bin" which was released in 2001. He become popular for his work in TV series "Saat Phere" in which he portrayed the role of ‘Neel’. He was recently seen as actor in popular daily soap "Qubool Hai" in which he played the role of ‘Asad Ahmed Khan’. He was also the runner up in "Grasim Mr. India" contest in 1999 and 1st runners-up at the "Mr. Intercontinental".
Early Life of Raqesh Vashisth
Raqesh Vashisth was born on 1st September, 1978 in Mumbai, Maharashtra as ‘Rakesh Bapat’. His father is a navy captain and his mother was an English school teacher in Pune. He did his pre-school from Amravati. Raqesh Vashisth has completed MBA from Mumbai University in 2000.
Career of Raqesh Vashisth
He made his Bollywood debut in Anubhav Sinha’s "Tum Bin" (2001). After the success of Tum Bin, followed by few average films like "Dil Vil Pyar Vyar" in 2002 and "Koi Mere Dil Mein Hai" in 2005, but none of these films clicked. He failed to make a mark at the box-office and decided to turn to television.
He made his debut in the Zee TV serial, "Saat Phere" and also done ads for Colgate, Wrigley’'s chewing gum, SSI-Education and Lux among others. He has played the role of ‘Anuj’ in the NDTV Imagine show "Ek Packet Umeed". He also played the role of ‘Karan Mehra’ in "Simply Sapne" as the main actor replaced by ‘Gautam Rode’. He was highly recognized as male protagonist ‘Aditya’ in the STAR Plus show "Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?". He was also seen in Madhur Bhandarkar’s movie "Heroine". Apart of his work as actor he was also seen as contestant in dancing reality show "Nach Baliye Season 6" along with his wife Riddhi Dogra.
Personal Life of Raqesh Vashisth
Rakesh Bapat changed his name to Raqesh Vashisth with him explaining that Vashisth is his original surname and he changed the name on his mother’s request. He has great interest in painting, horse riding, playing tennis, sculpting, singing, playing flute and sitar. He is a good painter and he used his painting to decorate the walls of his home. He is married to Riddhi Dogra his co-actor from "Maryada".
