 Saloni Aswani is an Indian film actress who mainly works in South Indian films. She is also a model. Before stepping into the film industry, she ventured into modelling, appearing in a number of advertisements. She debut for the silver screen in 2003 with the Hindi film ‘Dil Pardesi Ho Gayaa’. Later, Saloni Aswani focused on South Indian films but failed to obtain notable commercial success.
Early Life of Saloni Aswani Saloni Aswani was born as ‘Vandana’ in Maharashtra into a Sindhi-speaking family. Her father was an assistant commissioner of narcotics. When she was 5 year-old, her family moved to CGS quarters at Wadala, Mumbai. After completing school, Saloni Aswani attended Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University (SNDT), Mumbai to receive her graduation degree in Psychology. Since her childhood, Saloni Aswani was interested in dramas. She attended a theatre group Kala Sansad to hone her skills in acting. She also joined Ashok Kumar’s Academy of Dramatic Arts to learn acting. Career of Saloni Aswani Saloni Aswani debuted in 2003 with Sawaan Kumar Tak directed movie ‘Dil Pardesi Ho Gaya’. It was Sawaan Kumar Tak who rechristened her as Saloni. Then in 2005, she made her first appearance in Telugu film ‘Dhana 51’. Her next Telugu film was ‘Oka Oorillo. However, both the films were commercial failures. The year 2006 saw her in prominent roles in various films including ‘Chukkallo Chandrudu’ and ‘Kokila’ in Telugu and ‘Rehguzar’ and ‘Saawan: The Love Season’ in Hindi. She also did a special appearance in the song “Nachindey Chesey” for the film ‘Boss, I Love You’. Her first release in 2009 was the Kannada film ‘Dubai Babu’, in which she essayed a minor supporting role, with her performance being appreciated by critics. Her next venture was the high-budget fantasy adventure ‘Magadheera’ by S. S. Rajamouli. In the movie she appeared in a cameo role but it bagged so much attention that Rajamouli was prompted to cast her as the lead female character in his subsequent project ‘Maryada Ramanna’, with Sunil as the protagonist. The film as well as Saloni Aswani received positive feedback. Her other release in 2010 was ‘Mr. Theertha’ in Kannada language.  Her 2011 release was ‘Rajapattai’ which starred Vikram. However, in this Tamil film she only made a special appearance. Saloni Aswani’s 2012 release was ‘Bodyguard’. The movie saw her enacting the role of female lead alongside Venkatesh and Trisha Krishnan. Next she was seen in ‘Adhinayakudu’ opposite Balakrishna and two Kannada films ‘Lakshmi’ and ‘Benki Birugali.’
Saloni Aswani also worked in several television advertisements like Vaseline, Lifebuoy, Parachute Oil, Moove, Chic Shampoo, Three Roses tea and Meera soaps.
