Location of Monchasha
Monchasha is a deltaic village, located near Contai or Kathi Rail way Station. It is now developed as a weekend tourism destination, where one can smell the Bengal alluvial soil. Monchasa is located on the banks of Bagda River in the remote village of Paushi, in East Midnapur district or Purba Medinipur District of West Bengal.

Monchasha is a weekend destination in West Bengal. This village offers the tourists some wonderful view of rural Bengal. Monchasha has the alluvial plain with the rich agricultural crops like rice, jute and many other agricultural crops grown here.

Shalmoli Bithi is the plantation area of the project offering a real visual treat. The wide range of species of fruits, flowers, vegetables and spices are easily found in this location. One will also find many plants having medicinal importance, like Tulsi, Aamlaki, Boyar, Hartuki, and Neem Tree . There is another tourist attraction called Antyodoy Anath Ashram in Paushi. The main aspire of this orphanage is to provide food and shelter to the parent-less children or single parent children, abandoned by their family. Ishani and Naitri are the two water tanks in Monchasa. In these two water tanks there is an availability of number of fishes like Rui, Katla, Mrigel, Kalbous, Carp, Telapia, Puti, Mourala. They are bred completely naturally. "Sahajiya" has been built, which is a platform for local cultural performances as Chhau Dance, Raibneshe Yatra Pala, Baul Fakir Darbesh and other programmes of rural Bengal. Bahiri Temple dates back to the medieval era Bengal. It is just a few kilometres from Monchasha. Barghobhima Temple, a palace, a museum and Rakhit Bati are the popular tourist attraction in Monchasha.

Visiting Information
Monchasha is easily accessible from railways and roadways. Contai (Kanthi) is the nearest railway station and Kalinagar Bus Stop is near to Monchasha. One can also avail the trekker service from Kalinagar Bus Stop to Paushi.
