Early Life of Anusha Dandekar
Anusha Dandekar was born in Khartoum, Sudan on 9th January 1982 to a Marathi family hailing originally from Pune in Maharashtra. She spent her childhood in Kingsgrove in Sydney. She has two siblings namely Shibani Dandekar and Apeksha Dandekar. One of her sister, Shibani, was a contestant in the dance based reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Career of Anusha Dandekar
Anusha Dandekar shifted to Mumbai, Maharashtra, in the year 2002 and began working in the entertainment industry. She has hosted a number of shows on Indian television. She has anchored a fashion television show titled MTV’s House of Style aired on MTV India. She has also hosted shows like MTV News, MTV Teen Diva and MTV Dance Crew. Apart from television anchoring, Anusha has also ventured into the Hindi film industry. She made her cinematic debut as an actress in Bollywood with the movie Mumbai Matinee in 2003. Subsequently she starred in Viruddh alongside Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham, Sanjay Dutt and Sharmila Tagore. She also appeared in the musical film Miss Bollywood in which she essayed the role of an ambitious dancer. She portrayed the role of Rosa in the Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt starrer Anthony Kaun Hai? Anusha Dandekar also acted in the Marathi film industry and marked her debut through the movie Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha. Anusha Dandekar has also surfaced on many popular magazine covers such as Seventeen, Elle and Cosmopolitian. In addition to this, she has also endorsed several top brands.

Anusha Dandekar has received many accolades and has earned nominations in prestigious award ceremonies like Screen Awards, Stardust Awards and Filmfare Awards. In the year 2006 she won the Maharashtra Times Sanmaan Best Debut Award for her performance in the movie Viruddh. In 2009 she received the Best VJ Award at the Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Female Awards. She also won 50 Most beautiful Women in India Award by Femina Magazine in the year 2010.
