Flora of Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary Fir and Deodar forests occupy an area measuring about 19.63 square kilometres inside Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary. It is situated at a distance of nearly 6 kms away from Dalhousie and is flanked by dense Oak and Coniferous Forests. Apart from this, Blue Pine Forests, Cedar Forests and Rhododendron plants are also existent in this part of the country. Different medicinal herbs grow in Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary which are accumulated by the local villagers for healing various physical disorders. Fauna of Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary Visitors to Kalatop Khajjiar Wildlife Sanctuary provides safe refuge to wild creatures including Himalayan Black Bear, Serow, Leopard, Barking Goral, Common Langur, Squirrel, Jackal, Antelope, Himalayan Black Marten, Deer, Bear, Himalayan Tahr, Ibex,, Indian Muntjac, Musk Deer, etc. Grey Headed Cannery Flycatcher, Blackbird, Pheasant, Himalayan Monal, Eurasian Jay, Black Headed Jay, Chestnut Billed Rock Thrush, White-winged Black Bird, Kaleej Pheasant, Kokla, Cheer Pheasant, Black-Headed Jay are amongst the 117 unique species of beautiful birds which survive in this sanctuary.
