Virupaksha Raya was the ruler of the Vijayanagar Empire who belonged to the Sangama Dynasty. His reign started from 1404 CE and continued till 1405 CE. Following the demise of Harihara II in 1404 CE, his sons named Virupaksha Raya, Bukka Raya II and Deva Raya I fought amongst each other for the royal throne. Finally Virupaksha Raya succeeded the throne, though his rule was short-lived. His sons assassinated him and Bukka Raya II became the new emperor. However, he ruled for a period of two years. Thereafter, his son Deva Raya I ascended the throne. Since the rule of Virupaksha Raya did not last for a long time, this regime was quite uneventful and lacked any significant conquests.
