Museum of Sabarna Roy Chowdhury, also known as 'Sabarna Sangrahashala' was created by the Sabarna Roy Chowdhury Paribar Parishad in the year 2005. This museum has been constructed in order to promote the rich historical materials and to create awareness amongst the students about the ancient history of India
. The family Sabarna Ray Chaudhury was the old Zamindar of the then Calcutta (Kolkata) prior to the arrival of the British East India Company
Government. On November 10, 1698, they transferred, by lease, their Zamindari rights over the three villages, Sutanuti, Kalikata and Gobindapur to the British East India Company.

, Museum of Sabarna Roy Chowdhury boasts of unique historical masterpieces which include 'Kabilatipatras' whose origin can be traced back to 18th and 19th centuries and an artefact containing the signature of Kavi Ramprasad Sen
which dates back to 1794. The other interesting artefacts preserved in this Museum are a large earthenware rice
container which belongs to 1840 and possesses a capacity of carrying 240 kg of grain, a metal candle stand belonging to circa 1795, grinding wheels which date back to 1845 and a beautiful metal 'hookah' which belongs to circa 1878. Coins

The judgement of the Kolkata High Court
which is connected to the Kolkata Birthday Case and the Expert Committee Report is also displayed. According to this statement, Job Charnock was not Kolkata's founder, as per the popular belief and also, the official birthday of Kolkata is not 24th August. The judgement asserts that Kolkata's existence can be dated much prior to the advent of Job Charnock, and acted as a crucial centre for trade. An annual exhibition is organised by this Museum every year during February. Open quiz and seminars are also arranged in this event. "Subarna Sangrahashala" better known as the museum of Sabarna Roy Chowdhury is in charge of publishing books like 'Bongo Chotogolper Achena Mahal' written by Dr.Sonali Mukhopadhyay, a book on quizzes by Devarshi Roy Choudhury and 'Bangiya Sabarna Katha/ Kalishetra Kalikatah' by Bhabani Roy Choudhury and many others.
