Museum of Sabarna Roy Chowdhury, also known as 'Sabarna Sangrahashala' was created by the Sabarna Roy Chowdhury Paribar Parishad in the year 2005. This museum has been constructed in order to promote the rich historical materials and to create awareness amongst the students about the ancient history of India. The family Sabarna Ray Chaudhury was the old Zamindar of the then Calcutta (Kolkata) prior to the arrival of the British East India Company and British Government. On November 10, 1698, they transferred, by lease, their Zamindari rights over the three villages, Sutanuti, Kalikata and Gobindapur to the British East India Company.
