The Lakhimpur Mounted Rifles was a former cavalry unit of the British Auxiliary Regiments under the British Indian Army. The volunteer corps regiment was headquartered in Lakhimpur, Assam. The army unit was raised on 3rd November 1882 as the Lakhimpur Volunteer Rifle Corps. It was later renamed as the Lakhimpur Mounted Rifles in the year 1888.
Later on 6th November 1891, the Lakhimpur Mounted Rifles was merged with various other regiments of the British Indian Auxiliary Forces in order to raise the Assam Valley Mounted Rifle.
