9th Indian Infantry Brigade
9th Indian Infantry Brigade was formed in September 1939. The brigade was attached to the 5th Indian Infantry Division, the 17th Indian Infantry Division and the 19th Indian Infantry Division.

The British Indian infantry formation of the 9th Indian Infantry Brigade remained in active service from the year 1939 to 1945. The brigade was raised under British Government of India during the outbreak of the Second World War. It was later re-designated as the 5th Indian Infantry Brigade. However a new brigade was formed in September 1939 with the title 9th Indian Infantry Brigade.

The brigade of the British Indian Army was attached to the 5th Indian Infantry Division from June 1940 to January 1944. Afterwards it was assigned to the 7th Indian Infantry Division and later again to the 5th Infantry Division. From March 1945 to April 1945, the 9th Indian Infantry Brigade was attached to the 17th Indian Infantry Division. However in April 1945, it was later assigned to the 19th Indian Infantry Division. Eventually the brigade was merged with the 5th Indian Infantry Division for the rest of World War II.

* 2nd The West Yorkshire Regiment (November 1940 to August 1945)
* 3/18th Royal Garhwal Rifles (April 1941 to May 1941)
* 28th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery (October 1941 to March 1942)
* 3/9th Jat Regiment (May 1942 to December 1944)
* 4/10th Baluch Regiment (June 1942)
* 3/14th Punjab Regiment (July 1942 to October 1944)
* 1/2nd Punjab Regiment (July 1942 to August 1942)
* 4th Jammu and Kashmir Infantry (October 1944 to April 1945)
