63rd Indian Infantry Brigade

The 63rd Indian Infantry Brigade was formed under the British Empire in India as an infantry formation for service in the Second World War. It was raised at Jhansi under the administrative authority of the British Indian Army in January 1942. The brigade remained in active service till 1945. Initially it was attached with the 23rd Indian Infantry Division. Afterwards it was allotted to the 17th Indian Infantry Division in March 1942.

The 63rd Indian Infantry Brigade was assigned to the 39th Indian Infantry Division in May 1942. However, it was eventually attached with the 17th Division again and served under its command till the culmination of the war. The troops of the infantry formation took part in several conflicts and campaigns of the British Government of India. It also participated in Burma Campaign in the South East Asian Theatre of the Second World War.
