Vazhappully Shree Rajarajeshwari Temple is among the first and foremost family temples in Kerala. The temple dates back to more than 500 years. It is situated towards the west of Edamuttom in Thrissur District, in the Indian state of Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali. Earlier, in olden days devotees sacrificed chicken and goat to this temple as offerings to the deity. Later in Malayalam Year 1122 in the Edavam month i.e. in May1947 a beautiful Panchaloha idol of Sri Rajarajeswari was reinstalled as the main deity by Sri. Narasimha Swamikal. He was the first disciple of Sri Narayana Guru. It is believed that Goddess Rajarajeswari possesses the combined powers of Mahalakshmi, Goddess Saraswati, Parvathi and Bhadrakali. Thus, by worshipping the deity with complete devotion the devotees are said to be blessed with prosperity, wealth and a healthy life. Devotees from various places visit the temple to offer their worships and prayers to the deity and receive her blessings. The goddess id said to be the protector of this region.

Aadi Guru
Aadi Guru is considered as the ancestor of Vazhappully family. Aadi Guru became a brahmachari and learned all Tantra, Mantra and Treatment methods during the time when lower castes were not allowed to study or even hear Vedas. The received his education under Gurus from Aazhvancheri Mana. He used his in depth knowledge of Tantras Mantra and awakened the goddess. It is said that Goddess Bhagavati appeared and the supreme soul of the Goddess was captured in the idol. This idol is worshipped by all devotees at Sri Rajarajeshwari Temple.
Suuranaatu Kaimal Muthappan
He was the right hand commander of Aadi Guru. His idol has been installed in the temple and is worshipped by the devotees. Suuranaatu Kaimal is believed for protecting his devotees against their karmadoshas and enemies.
Avanappulli Muthappan
He was a great scholar who possessed great knowledge in medicine. His idol was also installed in the temple. Avanappulli Muthappan is worshipped by devotees to get relief from all sort of toxic diseases.
Ganapathi
Ganapathi Homa`s are performed daily during Ramayana Masam (Malayalam month - Karkidakam) on the name of each devotees as per the birth star. At the end of this month "Maha Ganapathi Homa" is performed.
Apart from this there are other deities like Kandakarnan - Veerabhadran, Raktheswari, Navagrahas, Nagaraja - Nagayakshi and Brahmarakshas.
