Raya Raghunatha Tondaiman was the Raja of the kingdom of Pudukkottai
, who ruled over the region from December 28, 1769 to December 30, 1789. Raja Sri Raya Raghunatha Tondaiman was born in May 1738 to father RajaVijaya Raghunatha Raya Tondaiman I
and mother Rani Nallakatti Ayi Sahib. He was the only son of the royal couple and was received private education during his early years. After his father Vijaya Raghunatha Raya Tondaiman I died on 28th December 1769, Raya Raghunatha succeeded him and ascended to the throne of Pudukkottai kingdom. The rule of Raja Raya Raghunatha Tondaiman of Pudukkottai was rather stable and mostly uneventful. He also composed the literary work of Parvathi Parinyamu in Telugu
The Raja of Pudukkottai, Raya Raghunatha Tondaiman was married for almost eleven times, but had only one daughter Rajkumari Perumdevi Ammal Ayi Sahib. He died on 30th December 1789 after a rule of an extensive period of 20 years. As the ruler had no son, he was succeeded by Vijaya Raghunatha Tondaiman, his cousin, who ascended the royal throne of Pudukkottai.
