Anjan Gram is located at a distance of 130 klomters from Ranchi which is the capital city of the state of Jharkhand. This place is bounded by the Netarhat Hills and Khatwa River. Anjan Gram is a popular pilgrimage place of India. There is a mythical story behind the development of this place as a pilgrimage centre. This place is supposed to be the birth place of Lord Hanuman. Goddess Anjani was the mother of Lord Hanuman on whose name the place has been named.
The statue of Anjani Mata has been preserved inside the Anjani cave. Still today, the idol of Ma Anjani reminds the pilgrims of the association of the Anjan Gram in Jharkhand with Lord Hanuman.
To memorialize the mythical importance of the place of Anjan Gram, an idol that depicts Goddess Anjani has been put up inside the cave known as the Anjani Cave.
