Raghunatha Dasa Goswami was born as the son of a wealthy landowner Govardhana Dasa from Saptagram. Raghunatha dasa was interested in religious pursuits. Raghunatha escaped from his home and made a journey to Puri where he met his guru, Chaitanya.
He spends more than twenty-two hours out of every twenty-four chanting the Hare Krishna mantra. Raghunatha Dasa Goswami served Chaitanya for sixteen years. Thereafter he went to Vrindavan where he lived for several years at a sacred lake called Radha-kunda. His place of worship exists and is visited by many pilgrims even today.
