Sringavera is the modern Sungroor. This is a town situated on the left bank of the Ganges and on the frontier of Kosala and the Bhil country. In the Hindu mythology it is stated that Sringa-Vera was inhabited by Nishadas or wild tribes. Guha, the friend of Rama, was their chief of Sringavera.
