In the Indian general election, 2004, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was Sonia Gandhi's campaign manager and helped in supervising her brother Rahul Gandhi's campaign too. During the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, 2007 Rahul Gandhi managed the state-wide campaign, while she focused on the ten seats in the Amethi, Rae Bareilly region. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra dealt the situation skilfully and spent two weeks there trying to suppress considerable internal strife within the party workers over seat allocations.
