The Indian mythology affirms that Khandikya is the son of Amitadhwaja. Khandikya is the cousin of Kesidhwaja and were hostile to each other. Khandikya was an expert in efficient religious rites. He was expelled from his throne by his brother Kesidhwaja.
Later Khandikya taught his cousin Kesidhwaja the reparation of a sin, and was by him instructed in the Yoga doctrine.
