The Hindu mythology affirms that Kameri is the Indian cuckoo. Kameri is said to be the 'vahana' of Kama Deva. Kameri is represented as the bird with a bow and arrow composed of roses and jasmine. It also consists of other flowers with no thorns.
Kameri used to sit in the Peepul tree and sing its monotonous but pleasing notes. The scenic beauty was mesmerizing and when Kameri sang at the last tint of sunset illuminated the dark hues of the surrounding woods.
