 Vastu Shastra spells out that the perfect locations for the construction of the seating room in a flat are the North - East, East, North or North - West. The other directions should be completely avoided for its construction.
Along the walls in the South or West sofa-set, diwan, cots and seating arrangements can be easily made. Folding or fibre chairs can be arranged in the North or East. However the North -East corner of the seating room requires to be kept vacant. To decorate one is allowed to place earthen flower pots filled with water. It is advisable that the money plants are kept in the flower pots. Cactus plants should not be put in this unit of the flat. They cause discontentment. Rather flower plants, such as, rose, crotons, palm, money plant, fern and others are better options.
Do not opt for hanging garden in the North - East, North and East of the seating room. It is permissible to have it in West, the North, West or South of the room. The T. V. is always turned on if it is kept in the North West. The showcases, metal showpieces, models of animals and others can be kept in the South or the West. The teapot should be square or rectangular. It should never be round or with its corners cut off.
If the bed is in the seating room, it is best to place it in South or West. While sleeping legs should not be stretched towards the South.
