Sawai Madhopur was first established as a city by Madho Singh II. Located at the eastern part of Rajasthan this place is famous for its wildlife. Khandar Fort: Built around 12th century the fort reflects the grandeur of Indian architecture. It is situated in Taragarh. To reach this site the tourists will have to cover a distance of 40 kilometers from Sawai Madhopur. The hill on which the fort is situated is vertically high. As a result the fort remained inaccessible to the foes.
ChouthMata Temple: It is at a distance of 25 kilometers from Sawai Madhopur and is located on a hill near Chauth Ka Barwara town. It is quite famous with the local people.
Karauli: This is a city of red sandstone. It is well known for its annual fair that takes place at the Kaila Devi Temple. The city is important both as a historic place as well as a religious site. Another famous attraction here is the temple of Madan Mohanji.

Kota: From the city of Ranthambore it is located 100 kilometers away. A glorious ancient city it houses several monuments, gardens and palaces.
