Thrissanku Hills It is situated about 4 km from Peermade. It has picturesque scenario and attracts lots of tourists. A leisurely walk through the place is rejuvenating. Peeru Hills This hill is situated just 1 km from Kuttikanam and about 4 km from Peermade. This place was named in memory of an Islamic saint, Peer Mohammed. This saint is said to have spent his last days on this magnificent place. His burial chamber can also be found here on this hill. The summer palace of the royal family and the residence of Diwan can be found near this hill. This is favourite place of the Picnic makers and trekkers. ![]() Grampi is situated 5 km from Peermade and 10 km from Vandiperiyar. It is also known as 'Parunthupara', which means 'Eagle Rock'. A panoramic view of the remarkable landscape lying below can be enjoyed from the high peaks here. One can see the extensive plantations of coffee, tea and cardamom on the way to Grampi via road. Pattumala It is situated about 17 km on the east of Peermade and 28 km on the west of Thekkady. Pattumala means 'Silk Mountain'. It has soft and gentle landscape, which is an entertaining region of soaring peaks and beautiful little streams. This place is flourished with tea plantations. Here, the Velankanni Matha Church is built out of granite stone. This church makes it a popular pilgrim centre. Other attracting things here are the flower garden, which has flashy colours and placid flowers. The ornate orchids and anthodium are irresistible attractions for the tourists. Vegamon This place is situated 25 km from Peermade. The grassy hills, wide open lawns and a beautiful landscape, makes it a perfect picnic spot. Here, one can see a chain of three distinct hills such as 'The Thangal Hill', 'The Murugan Hill' and 'The Karisumala'. These are considered to be a natural symbol of religious harmony. A dairy farm managed by monks is also found here. This place is a meeting of religious mysticism and European legacies. Sahyadri Ayurvedic Centre This Ayurvedic Centre near Peermade attracts lots of patients as the centre offers various treatment packages for cure and rehabilitation. It has sophisticated facilities including a unit for manufacturing and processing Ayurvedic medicines. There is a herb museum, which contains over 200 varieties of rare herbs of high medicinal value. This centre is trying to perpetuate the precious herbs going to the verge of extinction. More than 400 herb varieties are grown here in a garden of about 35 acres in area.
