Over the years the Government and several social organizations have taken initiatives so that the education of Jaisalmer district can undergo a facelift. Various projects have been implemented so that education of Jaisalmer district can be at par with the need of education of the people. General problems like lack of awareness, bad communication system is being taken care off. Special emphasis has been given on the education of a girl in the district. School buildings, healthy environment are necessary for facilitating good education. These factors also are being thoroughly analyzed.
In the month of June of the year 2007, the Merasi School was opened. Near about eighteen students, and five adult tutees have enrolled their names. They use to attend classes for at least 6 days in every week. 2 teachers are given the charge of taking classes. The aim of this school is to fulfill the needs of desires of community. Its structure is centered on the belief that education of Merasi community people gear on the process of social change.
