The temple is nestled on the banks of an ancient river called Maharajbandh. Etymology of Dudhari Temple and Monastery This ancient temple is dedicated to Hindu deity, Lord Rama. However, the monastery derived its named after the deeds of Swami Balbhadra Das who only had 'doodh' (milk) as his staple diet. Balbhadra was the main saint of the temple and used to accept only offerings of milk from the devotees. Entombments of the former 'Mahants' can also be seen in the nearby grounds.
