The Peoples' Museum at P.O. Kackching Bazar in the state of Manipur was established in the year 1981. This museum was established in order to store different objects of the ancient time of Manipur and its allied areas.
The objects that have been displayed in the museum include books, old ornaments, old clothes, pottery, basketry, wooden seat with decorative designs, musical instruments, weighing balance, war and hunting appliances, fossils, traditional costumes of Kings and tribal Chiefs and traditional devices for smelting iron.
The museum remains open from 1:30pm to 5pm during summer and 10am to 5pm during winter except Sundays and Government Holidays.
