About 156km from Imphal, Tamenglong is beautiful place of natural beauty in the state of Manipur. People visiting the place have to relish the flavor of flora and fauna. In this place is situated the interesting Orient Musuem.
The Orient Museum was established in the year 1985. It is a treasure vault of artifacts including tribal arts and crafts, costumes, jewelry, and domestic vessels of Kabui tribe, coins and marble sculptures. There are also collections of Pre-historic tools, guns, cannons, ivory and bell metal, terracotta objects and paintings.
The museum remains open for the visitors to view these elements of the past from 10 o'clock in the morning to 3o'clock in the evening. It remains closed on Sundays, Mondays and public holidays.
