One of the Vedic deities of the early times is Aryaman. Literally, his name means a 'bosom friend', but he is often confused with 'the protector of the Aryans'. He is one of the sons of Aditi and Kashyapa, i.e. an Aditya, a solar deity. Hypothetically, he is considered as the chief of the manes and his path has been supposed to be the 'Milky Way'. Aryaman is the other name of Surya or the Sun God. Actually, Arya means 'an honourable or respectable man'. This is the actual and original Sanskrit term, which has been corrupted over time.
