Indian Mythology describes Arundhati as the wife of sage Vashisht, the chief of the seven acclaimed sages or 'Saptarshi' and the Rajguru of the Suryavamsha or Solar Dynasty. She is identified with the morning star and is invoked during the marriage ceremonies of the Hindus. She is recognized as a figure of an ideal wife.
