The Department of Ancient History and Archaeology in the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu was established in the year 1962. It is located within the Chennai University. It was founded in order to store the archaeological objects.
The objects that have been displayed in the department are excavated material and antiquities of Chennai and allied areas.
People who are interested to view these materials of the ancient past may come between 10:30am to 5pm. The department remains closed on all university holidays.
