The state of Kerala, besides being a fascinating tourist place is also a place of interest for the historians, research scholars and general curious persons for its diverse historical collections, accumulated in several museums.
The Pareekshith Thapura Museum at Ernakulam in the state of Kerala was established in the year 1976 as an archaeological museum. It is exactly located in the Darbar Hall. Other than the ancient historical collections, the museum stores objects of past Maharajas, wooden, stone and bronze sculptures, coins, models of temples, copies of murals, period furniture, arms, models of burials, pottery, porcelain and silverware.
The museum is kept open from 9:30am to 12 noon and 3pm to 5:30pm.
