The Fort St. George Museum at Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu was established in the year 1948. It is a multipurpose museum located exactly near the Archaeological Survey of India.
The museum houses objects like arms, uniforms, medals, porcelains, coins, manuscripts, paintings, prints, textiles, etc. of East India Company and Indo-French and of the Mysore periods.
Interested people who are likely to visit the museum may come between 10am to 5pm. The museum remains closed on Fridays and other holidays.
