District Museum is located at Barpeta district in Assam. The Museum was opened for the public in 1987.The Museum has a huge collection of manuscripts on Sanchi bark, iron lamp stands, wooden mask, coins, utensils, silver jewelry, palanquins, sculptures textiles, images of Garunta , old muga scarves and costumes etc.
The museum also holds the rare collection of cultural and art objects based on Sathriya Vaishnavite culture. The Museum is open from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M during summer and 10 A.M. to 4.15 P.M during winter except Mondays, 2nd and 4th Saturdays and Government holidays.
