Dhenkanal Science Centre was established in 1995.It is located on the hilltop of Dhenkanal. Dhenkanal Science Center is an autonomous body under the National Council of Museums. It also gets support from the Department of Culture, Govt. Of India. Dhenkanal Science Centre was founded with a view to promote the basic knowledge of science among children with fun and playing.
Dhenkanal Science Centre has some nice galleries and a science park. Here children can enjoy with different types of mirror, hot air balloons, rolling balls etc. Children are given the lesson on various scientific subjects like skeleton, seasons change etc. Dhenkanal Science Center arranges Science film shows, Science exhibitions, and science seminars and science quiz for the student. This center also sends a Science Exhibition bus to common people throughout the town to disseminate the basic knowledge of science.
There is also a planetarium in this Science Center. Dhenkanal Science Centre is open everyday from 11.30 am to 7.00 pm except Mondays.
