Tirumarugal ratnagireshwara Temple is one of the 78 maadakkovils built at an elevation by Ko Chenkann Cholan, known as Manikkagiri. It is the 80th in the series of Tevara Stalams located south of the river Kaveri. Lakshmi was reunited with Vishnu after worshipping Shiva, hence the name Tirumarugal.
: The temple has two prakarams and the entrance has a five-tiered Rajagopuram. The tank in front of the temple is known as Lakshmi Theertham. The temple is reached through stairs on the side. Murals depict legends connected to the temple in the Amman shrine. One of the tanks is named Seerala Theertham, after the son of Siruthonda Nayanar.
: Chitra Pournami is also celebrated here.
