Nadia is situated 74 kilometres north of Kolkata and on the bank of river Bhagirathi.

The Nadia district is located in West Bengal. It covers an area of 3,927 sq. kms. It had a population of 46,03,756 as per 2001census. It industry is mainly agricultural Covering an area of approximately 3927 Sq. Kms the Nadia district is an emblem of Vaishnav philosophy and beliefs. Nadia district has some important centres of pilgrimage and ancient learning like , Santipur and Mayapur, and the places of historical interest like Ballal Dhipi, Krishnanagar Rajbari etc.
