This is a famous plantation town takes its name from Peer Mohammed who was a Sufi saint and close associate of the former royal family of Travancore. Wide panorama of Tea, cardamom, rubber and coffee plantation mix together with silver cascades, sculptural rocks, meadows and mist-cloaked hilltops make Peermede an unforgettable experience. The most delightful trekking trials complement the panoramic landscape. Monuments like the summer residence of the royal family add to the magnificence of the land. The summer residence is now converted to the government guesthouses under the Department of Tourism and this place offers comfortable accommodation.

Kuttikkanam:
This is a place for adventure tourism and trekking, or even an indolent, relaxing break. This picturesque cultivated area washed in the fragrance of cardamom is encircled by lush, green hills.

Thrissanku Hills:
This place is 4 kms away from peermedu and half kilometer from Kuttikkanam. The undulating hills, the attractive landscape and the placid breeze make this spot ideal for long walks. The hills offer a breathtaking view of the sunrise and sunset, which attracts lot of tourists.

Peeru Hills:
This hill station is 4 kms away from Peermede and 1 km from Kuttikkanam. This peaceful hill station is a favorite visit of trekkers and picnickers. The hill is named after Peer Mohammed, the Sufi saint, who spent his last days here. Some of the important places to visit are the burial chamber of the saint, the summer palace of the royal family and the residence of the Diwan situated nearby.

Grampi:
This place is also known as Parunthupara or eagle rock, which is at 5kms away from Peermede. The panoramic view from its peak is very beautiful. Rocky plains, lush hillsides, forests, trekking trails and pictorial view added charm to this destination. Cardamom, tea and coffee plantation is very common to this place.

Pattumala:
This place is situated at the distance of 17 km from Peermede and 28 km from Thekkady. The attraction mainly lies in the eminent peaks, little streams and ever expanding tea plantations. Pattumala which literally mean hill draped in silk is home to the two most famous tea plantations, Harrisons Malayalam and A.V. Thomas & Co. Entirely build in granite, the Velankanni Matha Church, which is place at the top of the hill is a famous pilgrim center. The flower garden nearby is mesmerizing demonstration of colours, which includes roses, orchids and anthuria.

Vagamon:
This place is situated at 25 kms away from Peermede. The attracting spots of this place are grass-covered hills, velvet lawns and the cool mountain air respectively, which make Vagamon a perfect holiday retreat. A curious blend of religious mysticism and European legacies, this hillside village is a safe place of harmony and serenity. The chain of three hills namely Thangal hills, Mudugan Hill and Kurisumala, is a mark of religious harmony. The kurisumala monks managed a dairy farm, which is visit worthy.

Sahyadri Ayurvedic Centre:
This is a well-established Ayurvedic Hospital, managed by the Peermedu Development Society in Pallikunnu. This hospital is well known for its curative and rejuvenating treatment packages. The center has well-appointed treatment and accommodation facilities, a unit for manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines and a well-maintained raw drugs museum where more than 200 verities of rare and endangered herbs are preserved. More than 400 herbs used for medicines are grown in the hospital`s own garden. This garden is extended over 35 acres.

Ilaveezhapoonchira:
This place is 55 km from Kottayam, and 20 km from Thodupuzha. This is another picnic spot located in the midst of beautiful hillocks near Kanjar. It is easily accessible from Palai in Kottayam District. This place is surrounded by three enchanting hillocks namely Mankunnu, Kudayathoor mala and Thonippara. This is regarded as ideal place for trekking.

Tribal settlements in Peermede:
The main habitat that includes the Oorali, Malappandaram and Malayarayan tribes live in the hills of Peermede. The main tribal settlement here is Plakkathadam, which is famous for its trekking trails.
