Zee Cine Awards for Best DirectorZee Cine Awards is a viewer"s choice award organized by the entire Zee network. It is an esteemed award ceremony dedicated to the Hindi film industry in which the film personalities are honoured for their technical and artistic excellence. Zee Cine Awards was introduced in the year 1998. The grand event witnessed a congregation of various Bollywood professionals and bright luminaries who together celebrate the achievements and works of Indian cinema. Spectacular performances and award presentations grace the event. Awards are presented to the film professionals under diverse categories in recognition to the contributions of Bollywood personalities in varied cinematic fields.

14th Zee Cine Awards
14th Zee Cine Awards was organized in the year 2014 for commemorating the best films of the previous year, 2013. The award ceremony was held on 8th February 2014 in Mumbai and was aired on 23rd of February on multiple channels. It was co anchored by the Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh. Over years a number of acclaimed film directors have emerged in Bollywood who have presented many classics to the film industry. Zee Cine Awards for Best Director every year honours such directors for their outstanding works. In 2014, the nominations under this category included Ayan Mukerji for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Mohit Suri for Aashiqui 2, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Rohit Shetty for Chennai Express, Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela and Anand Rai for Raanjhanaa. In the event Ayan Mukerji walked away with the award for directing the film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
