Vadamanappakkam is located in Tiruvannamalai district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a village situated at a distance of almost 20 miles on the southern side of Kanchipuram and almost 35 miles on the northern side of Vellore. The village is administered under the Cheyyar Taluk. Vadamanappakkam has derived its name from `Vaadamalai Amman` in the Easwarar Temple in the village.

Economy of Vadamanappakkam
Agriculture is the main source of income for the people of Vadamanappakkam. They are also engaged in the weaving industry. Kanchi cotton and silk sarees are some of the major products of the village. Rice is their staple food. Water is procured from wells and ponds for irrigation and drinking purpose. These wells and ponds receive water in the rainy seasons during the months from October to January.

Vadamanappakkam has established several schools and collages to impart education among the students. The village has a preliminary school, a high school and a rural library. An elementary school located here provides education to almost 400 students. About 600 students receive education in the high school of the village. Festivals of Vadamanappakkam
Vadamanappakkam celebrates several festivals on a grand scale. Pongal is celebrated by the villagers with great enthusiasm. People from the neighbouring villagers gather to celebrate the festival. Besides this the villages also celebrates other festivals like Diwali, Autha Pooja, Vinayagar Chathoorthi, Krishnar Jeyanthi and others. The festival of Thanthondri Amman is celebrated in the village on the 4th Sunday of the Tamil month Thai. On this day all the members of the village offer pooja to the deity. Another important festival Surasambaram is celebrated in the Subramaniyar Swami Temple. The festival is organised after every two years and is celebrated for three days. Several programs are planned during this time. On the krishnajeyanthi day few festivals are celebrated in Krishnar Kovil dedicated to Venugopal Swami. On this day Uri Adi function is organised in the Yadava Street.

Vadamanappakkam is well connected by all modes of transports. Tourists can avail the buses plying from Chennai via Kanchipuram to Kalavi Road. The village is almost 15 kms way from Cheyyar and 27 kms away from Kanchipuram. Arcot is located at a distance of almost 20 kms. The Katpadi railway Junction is the nearest railway station located at a distance of 27 kms. Trains from Coimbatore, Chennai, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram pass by this route.
