The Indian state of Rajasthan is popular for its stepwell, the Toorji Ka Jhalra is a famous stepwell that is located in the city of Jodhpur. Built in the 1740s by the consort of Maharaja Abhay Singh, the stepwell was submerged for nearly a century. Recently after its restoration and improved drainage system about 200 ft of hand carved treasure was found in Jodhpur"s famous rose red sandstone. These treasures had intricate carvings of dancing elephants, medieval lions, cow water sprouts and niches housing structures of divine figures.
