The place where Sri Mahalakshmi Temple is situated is 80 Kms distant from Bangalore and 30 Kms from Tumkur District in Karnataka. The temple here is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi.

It is believed that the idol of Shri Mahalakshmi is self originated in Sri Mahalakshmi Temple. This unique and ancient Sri Mahalakshmi Temple attracts many a pilgrims of India. Special puja will be performed on Fridays in Sri Mahalakshmi Temple. The free lunch is provided daily for the devotees in Sri Mahalakshmi Temple. Other temples near Sri Mahalakshmi Temple are Oni Nagappa Temple and Renukamba Temple.

Goravanahalli is well connected by roads. The KSRTC Buses and the private buses (from Kalasipalyam) ply daily to Goravanahalli from Bengaluru. One should take turn towards Goravanahalli at Dabaspet on Bengaluru - Tumkur Road.
