Brihadaranyaka Upanishad is one of the oldest texts and an important part of Upanishad. Shatapatha Brahmana contains the Brhadaranyaka Upanishad. It is the secondary extraction of the Brahamana text.
The sixth chapter of part one of Brhadaranyaka Upanishad deals with the three aspects of the Universe. According to it the world is a name, work and form. The names are the speech. From it arises all names. It is their common feature (saman). It is their Brahman (self), for it supports all names.
Further, the forms are objects of the eye and work is their foundation. From it all forms spring forth and it is their common feature (saman). It is their community; for it is common to all the forms. It is the Brahma or self and it upholds all forms. Next, of work, the body is the source (uktha), the works are self (Atma) for from the same all works arise. It is their community, their common feature (saman) as it is common to all works. It is their Brahman (self), for it supports all works. All the three are essentially one. The immortal being is concealed by truth. The vital breath or the life is verily the immortal being. The form as well as the name is the truth and they cover the immortal entity.
