Siddavatam Fort

Siddavatam Fort is located in Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh on the banks of the Pennar River. Earlier it was a mud fort before being developed into a rock fort.

Siddavatam Fort, Andhra PradeshSiddavatam Fort is located in Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh on the banks of the Pennar River. It was constructed in 1303 CE and it lies on 30 acres of land. The fort was developed by the king Varadha Raju, son of Shri Krishna Deva Raya. Earlier it was a mud fort during the reign of Matli Rajulu.

Structure of Siddavatam Fort
There are view gateways and decorated pillars at the two ends of the fort. The top of the fort has been adorned with carvings of Gajalakshmi. The fort is built with 17 bastions, which used to protect the entire fort campus. There are temples and masjid inside the fort among which Ranganatha Swamy Temple is the most popular one.
