Shri Bhujpur Teerth, GujaratShri Bhujpur Teerth located in Gujarat is a Jain pilgrimage centre. The teerth kshetra is situated in the Bhujpur village. The temple is dedicated to Lord Parshvanatha, the twenty-third Jain Tirthankara.

History of Shri Bhujpur Teerth
Shri Bhujpur Teerth according to history dates back to the ancient times. On the wall of the temple a painting of Vastupal Tejpal can be seen. The image proves the antiquity of the teerth. The teerth kshetra is associated with many legends and miracles. As per a legend when Vastupal`s parents died he decided to go on a pilgrimage to Siddhachalji to console himself. However, before going he thought of burying his wealth under the ground. He went to a tree to burry his wealth when he saw a large copper vessel, full of wealth. Then Anupamadevi said to Vastupal that if he wished to have a low state of life then he must burry his wealth but if he wished to have a high state of life he must decorate the hills with summits. Thus, in course of time the temples of Girnar and Delwada and the teerth of Bhujpur were established. The temple of Shri Bhujpur Teerth was built in 1897 of the Vikaram Samvat Era. It belongs to the small group of the five temples of Kutch Bhuj. The idol of Lord Parshvanatha is believed to possess miraculous powers. The temple is visited by thousands of devotees from far off places who come here to offer their prayers to the Lord and receive his blessings. It is believed that if prayed with all devotion the Lord fulfils the wishes of the pilgrims.

The temple is Shri Bhujpur Teerth housing the idol of Lord Parshvanatha has been brilliantly decorated with elaborate artistic designs. It reflects the artistic work of the craftsmen. The walls and pillars of the temple are adorned with specimens of ancient art and paintings. The idol of the Lord is seated in a padmasana posture. The smiling face of the Lord looks very calm and serene. Apart from this there is also a modern two storied temple. Lord Mahavira is the main deity here. Other than this there is an idol of Bhagwan Kesariyaji in the cellar that is worth visiting. There is also a huge library here that has many ancient books and manuscripts.

The Temple of Shri Bhujpur Teerth organizes many annual gatherings and functions that are celebrated with much enthusiasm. The semi century festival of this temple was celebrated here. There are provisions for dharamshalas or rest houses for the pilgrims. These are well equipped with all modern facilities. Apart from this there are Upashrays, an Ayambilshala and a Jnanabhandar. The teerth is situated in the midst of beautiful natural surroundings. Being located in a village the temple is enclosed by scenic beauty and greenery that mesmerizes and fascinates the pilgrims. The calm and tranquil environment makes the teerth a suitable place for religious activities. The kshetra is well connected to road, rail and air. Taxi services and bus services are easily available here. The nearest railway station is located at Gandhidham. This teerth is at a distance of 16 kilometers from the Mundra teerth and 42 kilometers from the Bhadreshvar teerth.
