Early Life of Shakti Kapoor
Born in Delhi to a Punjabi family on 3rd September 1958, Shakti Kapoor"s father ran a tailor shop in Connaught Place, New Delhi. His real name is Sunil Sikanderlal Kapoor but when he was asked to play the role of a villain in his first movie, Mahesh Sanghavi (the director of the movie) named him Shakti Kapoor.

Shakti Kapoor"s Career in Bollywood
Like many aspiring actors in Hindi film industry, Shakti Kapoor had struggled initially as he was given inconsequential roles in his movies. The years 1980-81 established Shakti Kapoor as an actor in Bollywood with two of his movies Qurbani and Rocky. These movies had established Shakti Kapoor as an actor of high impetus. In the nineties, he often diversified to positive comic roles and performed them with equal finesse (being a versatile actor).

Shakti Kapoor"s Rise to Fame
Some of the comic roles played by him have been as Inspector Bhinde in Insaaf, Prasad in Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri, Crime Master Gogo in Andaz Apna Apna, Tohfa as Batuknath in ChaalBaaz and as Goonga in Bol Radha Bol. Some of his famous dialogues are being mimicked by many small artists even now. These dialogues include "Main Nanha sa Chotta sa Bachcha Hoon" from the movie Chaalbaaz and "Nandu sabka bandhu, samajhta nahi hai yaar" from the movie Raja Babu.

During his career, he was part of many successful films such as `Aasha`, `Khiladi`, `Aankhen`, `Judwaa` and many more. He has two children. Now-a-days, Shakti Kapoor has been acting in Priyadarshan films like `Hungama`, `Hulchul`, `Chup Chup Ke` and `Maalamaal Weekly`. His versatility can be experienced when his comedy is seen along with his role as villainous character. His top five comedy can be named as `Andaz Apna Apna`, where he came to be known as Crime master Gogo `Raja Babu`, `Mast Kalandar`, `Coolie number One` and `Judwaa`. His top five villainous roles are `Aatish`, `Qurbani`, `Baaghi`, `Aankhen`, `Laadla`.
